Color Coding Explained

What the green, yellow, and red colors on each leg mean.

What the colors mean

Each row in the control table is color-coded based on how your split compared to the rest of the field on that leg:

  • 🟒 Green β€” your leg was in the fastest ~33% of all finishers. Good performance.
  • 🟑 Yellow β€” your leg was in the middle third. Room for improvement but not a major error.
  • πŸ”΄ Red β€” your leg was in the slowest ~33% of all finishers. Likely a mistake, hesitation, or poor route choice.

Colors are relative to the field. If everyone was slow on a particular leg (e.g. very complex terrain), a green leg there is still impressive.

How percentiles are calculated

Contoura sorts all valid split times for each leg and calculates where you fall in that distribution. Only finishers with a valid split for that leg are included β€” athletes with missing punches, DNS, or DNF are excluded from that leg's calculation.
